Welcome to Piet Noest

With a career spanning over fifty years, Piet Noest has painted the Australian landscape and lifestyle since relocating to Brisbane from the Netherlands in 1981. His work presents a unique, poetic vision of relationship to place while preserving Old World training in rigorous technique and use of materials. Noest’s sensibility rests firmly within the modernist canon, yet is strongly grounded in the history of oil painting and the sublime visual effects made possible by this traditional medium.
